For many years, because of the high risk/benefit ratio of laser skin resurfacing, less invasive approaches for treating photoaging have been desirable. Now, non-ablative fractional skin rejuvenation has become very popular, as it involves little or no downtime and delivers great results for mild to moderate skin wrinkling and dyschromia. The process is so gentle that the neck, chest, hands and face can all be treated.

What is the Pixel® laser?

Laser pulses are triggered as the treatment tip glides across the skin. Pixel® consistently deliver a single row of pixels (ablative microwounds) per millimeter moved. You can easily see where they’ve been with the pixel patterns left by each pass of the ablative laser.

Pixel® technology creates thousands of microscopic perforations while leaving the surrounding tissue intact.

In more detail, the Pixel® laser light passes through patented optics to penetrate the skin with tiny thermal channels, only as deep as a few sheets of paper. These micro-injury sites begin healing and, as collagen remodels, scars begin to fade, and texture starts to improve.

How much downtime should I expect?

Depending on the aggression of the treatment, 24 hours at the least up to 6-10 days. Post procedural products are necessary for optimal results and are available with each treatment for purchase.

How does the treatment feel and what should I expect after?

How the procedure feels varies from person to person. In general, the procedure can feel similar to a sunburn afterward. Topical numbing is applied in the office prior to treatment for patient comfort with every aggressive treatment. Redness, swelling and a tight- sandpaper feel to the skin is normal after.

Fractional laser treatments show dramatic results and you’ll see dramatic improvement in the tone and texture of your skin in as little as 1 treatment. Many patients choose Pixel because it:

• Clears sun-damaged skin
• Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles
• Shrinks the appearance of pores
• Fills in acne scars
• Blends uneven pigmentation
